My recent bike was second hand and the oaf who owned it before me can only have decided to use the key as a DIY tool or worse. It's very awkward to get the key out and doesn't actually work mechanically. I have my old bike key (exact same bike). And that is a normal working key fob... is there a guide or does anyone know how to swap over the internals on these new 'wireless' keys?
Not sure if the 1260 and 1200 are similar but on mine, you separate the 2 halves of the black plastic using a 2p coin (it’s just a clip fit) and the circuit board with the battery is loose inside so in theory should just swap across. My memory is telling me the attachment of the metal bits of the key are relatively simple. Andy
Checked whilst I was at MR, the 1260 key is different to the 1200 key so a lot more complicated. Andy
