Ok so the sun was out yesterday and it was time to break out the new leathers and go to work on the knee sliders, imagine my horror when I noticed this defilement! (See pic) Now before anybody asks no the slider was not round the back of my leg. I have one confession to make and that is I have a slight Lycra fetish and was wearing cycling pants under my leathers to avoid the otherwisw obligatory Houdini impression at the end of the ride. This may have allowed things to slip round a little. This has never happend before. The other side was ok but the wear was in the same place on the other slider all at the top. Any suggestions ? Thanks
trying too hard by sitting right over the side of the bike....... rather than achieving more of a lean angle with the bike first and a proportionate hang off....
as much as i hate to have to agree with Andy, i think he's right..i did myself in the early days...not enough upper body over the bike.. incidentally on the lycra front, i wear full length cycling leggins beneath my biker costume...they help to keep you cool, make getting in and out of the catsuit very easy, and have a very padded arse which on a 916 is an absolute blessing.
You could be right I guess everyone has there angle of dangle its never been an issue with other leathers . More effort required
I suggest that you've now got yourself a street credible set of leathers. Aren't they meant to have a few scuffs on them? Scuffs=ruffty tufty. Still, as you hung off the roundabout at the municipal rec, I'd have thought you'd have been able to organise it not to scrape the titanium bit if you didn't want to.
Dainese will fix those for you. I handed mine in at M&S and they sent them to Italy and mine were as good as new when returned. Or if they can be removed get them to order a new titanium part for you or email Dainese directly.
I had noticed that there are tiny torx screws holding them on which would suggest they're replaceable cheers ill be in M&S in the next few days. Did you get up to rothbury on Sunday
Yeah defo looks like youve been hanging off to much and not enough lean angle, ive done the same when i bought some new dainese leathers when i first started out
The torx screws came loose on my leathers, one of which was lost completely. After speaking with JHP who emailed Dainese on my behalf, because the titanium plates are a safety feature they (Dainese) will not supply new plates/screws. So it seems having the suits sent off for repair is the only option
If you do send off for repair, don't be in any hurry to get them back. I did this a couple of times with Dainese suits. Took an age (and don't expect anything to happen in the summer, which the Italians have off so they can have huge lunches under olive trees).
Think yourself lucky you didn't have a slider on your bum......I did.......great in the races.......... ........but walking around the paddock it felt (and looked?) like I had sh*t myself.
