Hi, I bought a Kriega US20 in Autumn last year, and it is incredible as a tail pack - loops go through the subframe rails, and you then tighten down the straps on the bag itself, and it is 100% waterproof: However in Spring I'm going to Belgium two-up, and the above wouldn't work. Space is limited for a pillion as it is, and most of the panniers on the market are just too big, without moving the stock indicators. My pillion ideally wants to get the ball of her feet on the pegs from time to time. I'm thinking of just using one or buying a second US20 to use as panniers, and just attaching the bottom straps to the pillion peg mount. Reckon that would work?
I reacon that'd work. You could bungee an ortlieb bag across the back as well for the pillion to sit against. I've used them a lot and are very maliable with clothes in.
Suppose I've answered my own question..however to keep enough clearance for the exhausts, the straps have to go over the seat. Better check she can't feel them next time out:
Having used the US20 for a couple of years in different positions I am sure you will have no trouble with it. Notice from your picture that you have a quite high tank bag. Last time I went away I had the same and it really pissed me off after a while. IT alters your riding position and threw my style right out the window. Found myself concentrating on riding the bike far more than enjoying it. Am looking for a much lower tank bag for this years trip. Just a note of caution make sure you have plenty of clearance between pannier and exhaust as I managed to burn the bottom out of one bag on a trip. Regards Steve
I have a US20 and 2 US 10's I'm selling as now have hard lugguage. The 20 is in fine condition and the US 10 are as new (only used 2 times- Assen and back). £70 for the lot if you interested?
kreiga I'll have to cancell that offer i'm afraid. Ones brother has pinched them for his ST4! After saying no he's now taken them. Sorry about that. They are very good kit. :frown:
