I saw a friends RC8R today and was impressed by the quality of finish and the various adjustments that can be made to it for different riders sizes and requirements. It was bought to replace An Aprilia RSV4 which has just come back after a major top end rebuild. One sensible owner from new with dealer service and out of guarantee.Aprilia picked up the £8000 repair bill though.Friend very happy with the KTM.
If I were to be tempted back onto a sportsbike, it would be the RC8. A big V-twin in a nimble chassis ticks all the right boxes, and I like the look too. Can't see the point of a tortuous riding position on a road bike any more.
Love the look of the RC8R and was very tempted before I joined the world of Ducati. And though I love the look, and they go like stink and have exceptional handling qualities, I found the body work to be so plasticky that a Kinder egg toy would be more robust. Which is a shame cos other than that I'd have one in a heartbeat.
