Lap timer thngy.

  1. My 848 has a lap timer function, now reading the manual it says this is started/stopped using the light/flash func.
But the (IIRC) the loom has a finish line sensor.
So, if the track has a transponder does it switch the timer on/off?

    Or am I being dim...

  2. Stick a DDA in there and download the results. You will forget to flash and it will never be in the same spot.

  3. does it need the DDA for the sensors to work?

  4. Tbh I have no idea what the sensors are, dont remember ever seeing on mine either old or evo models

  5. Just get a Bluetooth GPS dongle and download Racechrono onto an android phone:upyeah:

  6. To get the DDA to recognise the start/finish you need the gps bit too.

ive got a brand new DDA if anyone's interested?

  7. Just had a quick google...

    Interested...

I've got a 2010 non Evo 848. It's got the lead under the passenger (?) seat... does it come in two parts (logger plus GPS?) or does it all fit under the seat?

    Many thanks,

    Bob

  8. buy my spare starlane

  9. There's two sensors up near the headlight described in the manual as "finish line sensors" I'd have thought the simplest system would be to turn the dash to lap timer then let the track's transponder start/stop the timer.
Presumably you need the logger to log the data?

    I may give MR a call later...

  10. Believe these are extras, not standard fit. The normal lap timer uses the flash button, the memory can store a max. of 30 laps.

  11. Yep, think you are right there...

It is a bitch tho when you forget to trigger each lap:rolleyes:
