1200 DVT Larger Rear Brake Pedal

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Mobile Chicane, Apr 8, 2018.

  1. is there an after market or even ducati own brand rear brake pedal that can be fitted to the 1200 dvtwhich is slightly larger than the stock item as my foot keeps slipping off it when in use.

  3. hmm bit pricey and i only need to extend the brake lever.
the altrider one may be worth a look anyone fittted one ?

  4. If you are handy enough, you could make your own extension.

  5. im not that handy and i like the look of the alt rider one, I'm supprised oberon havent made somthing tbh

  6. I have just fitted the lever off of the enduro and its much better. Also can spin the foot around and make it higher

  7. Why has that got a shell oil sticker on but no oil in the window? ^

  8. Its so advanced it doesn't use oil ;)

  9. Its on the side stand

  10. I guess that’s a straight fit on?

Short of calling the dealer how much was the lever?

  11. Lever cost me £100 for the lever 45720961AA and 2 new orings 88641161A
I forgot to get the bolt part no. 77240398C which holds the master cylinder push rod (used one i had).

Its abit of a PIA job as fiddly but yes its a straight swap.
I had to undo the push rod bolt to get everything on then tightend it up after the lever was on.

    Very pleased with the result

  12. The Enduro footrest is also bigger and more comfortable to use than the standard Multi footrest, in my opinion:

  13. £100 for a lever?! F*ck me, that’s ridiculous even by ducati standards

  14. Does the enduro brake pedal only fit onto the DVT and onwards models? Mine is 2012 and was wondering what parts from the enduro would fit mine

  15. On a 2012 Multistrada the "Brake Control Lever" has the Ducati part number 457.2.048.2A.
On a 2017 DVT the part number is 457.2.077.1BA
It is still possible these different parts might be interchangeable, but don't bet on it.

  17. F’ing awesome!! I have a spare hanger already, worth a crack. Let us know how test ride goes, especially if there is risk of grounding (the std one can ground out under track and certain camber conditions)

  18. Ok managed a 130 ish mile run on all kinds of roads and it really helps especially on the slow techical stuff where I tend to use the rear brake to stabilise the bike.

I made this one in a bit of a hurry and it could have been machined out better with a dremel bit more suited to grinding out cast alloy.
The base plate is 1mm stainless and I have now fitted stainless m4 Allen boots to replace the original ones I used to fit the unit.

I have thread locked the bolts in and a check after the run found none loose so succss.

The the rear foot rest is just under £18 Brand new from ducati so probably £20 ish for bits (I had the bolts and stainless plate in my collection of useful bits and bobs)

Maybe 3/4 to an hour to fabricate
