I thought some of you might be interested in this device bought from Amazon for 120euro. It allows you to enter details about your belt such as width, mass and distance between pulleys. I used 20.5mm, 9gm and 110mm as a starting point and find it works very well on my 750ss ie with exact fit belts (rec 99hz) I have found you must have a clean, grease free 'plucking' finger to obtain consistent results.
