Laser treatment

  1. My boy high sided last weekend at Rockingham which resulted in a trip to Kettering A&E and a fractured wrist. The recovery time is 4 weeks which will mean he misses out on the next round at Anglesey. So I have booked him in with a specialist in Ipswich to have this laser treatment thing done (Monday) to try and speed up the recovery time. If it was left up to my son he would be ridding with the bloody plaster on! Have any of you had this treatment or know anyone that has? Just wondering what to expect and if it will do what I expecting. Thanks

  2. young bones here Troy but it's a bit 'how long's a piece of string?'. Mine was problematic at 56 and took 3 months before full healing and normality resumed. I don't know which bones are fractured but i'm sure you know there are many. If the dreaded scaphoid is fractured in the middle then it really needs devoted recovery time or else it might never heal.

  3. Guess you are talking about Brian Simpson here, I've heard good things about him but I believe he's an odd character. I think your boy will have 2 sessions in the day and this should kick start the healing process, don't believe for one moment this is an instant fix it speeds things up but if you're not careful you can break the knitted bone easily, I hear the downside is long term the bone won't be as strong as it would be if it had healed naturally so may re-occur if he injures himself again.

Sitting here with two casts on currently I contemplated this after these breaks but decided I'd rather spend the time to get them healed properly and avoid any potential breaks again. I also looked at exogen which you can hire (ultrasound) which will reduce healing time but for my legs it's reduced by about a week so no point really.

    Good luck

  4. Troy I can recommend a very good eye surgeon mr catapole at Windsor eye clinic he's very good google Windsor eye clinic maybe have a chat about lense replacement

  5. fujack, I think you mean Sundeep Kheterpal at Windsor or Bridge clinic Maidenhead, one of my nicest customers. However I think Troy is referring to Laser treatment for bones not eyes.

  12. Another thing that may be worth considering is hyperbaric (oxygen) treatment, if there is an MS center near you some of them have this facility available.
