Laying A Bike Up

  1. Greetings peeps,

I may well lay my 999 up at the end of this season - probably for quite an extended period. What would be your advice in terms of:

Fuel - keep it full or empty the tank? I assume the latter but would you empty the tank and then run the motor until it literally stops?
Oil - leave it in or drain it out?
Insurance - can you get laid-up based insurance cover or would this stay as normal?
MOT - I vaguely recall a thread about insurance possibly being invalid if a laid-up bikes MOT expires. What was the upshot of this?
I assume its best to get both wheels off the ground, take the battery out + bung a breathable dust cover over it?
    Anything else I've missed?

    All the best,
    Andy
