Anyone arching it? Proper hard core. Women are just as aggressive and grey game so far. Mens equally: one minor hiccup but overcame that to show their class. Tried watching the wheelchair version but couldn’t get into the game. We have a real chance to bring to England the men’s and women’s title. Both are chowing some world class performances and just need to keep their bottle for a great chance. If you like sport, and contact sport: watch it. Compared to union, most teams would be down to 6 aside with the kind of tackles that go it!
Yep...being an avid watcher. Some of the earlier games were a little one sided but now we're getting to the sharp end they are much more competitive. And yes the women's game is also a good watch with PNG last night enjoying the err... contact. If I remember correctly it's NZ v Australia tomorrow for the men which should be a real physical game.
Agree. Both men’s and women’s games have been real showcases for rugby league. My first league match was being taken to Wembley by a mate ( bode from Wigan) in the 60’s to watch Wigan v St Helen’s. A real festival for all there. Subsequent visit to Leeds Rhinos one winter night before Covid that was a bit dour but a good night. Encourage all to watch the semi on BBC at Arsenal.
I thought NZ v Australia was also going to be the women's game. And it's been played as we speak - see BBC3. The score is 6-4 at half time so should be a corker of a second half.
I grew up watching and playing rugby league, the headmaster of my school was a former international and our PE teacher had also played professionally. One of my brothers was on the verge of turning pro but unfortunately he sustained an injury that dogged him for over 2 years and so he missed the boat. My dad and 2 of my brothers go to most of their team’s home games and I like to take in a match or two when I go back to visit. So it’s a “yes” from me
I’m more a union guy, as I played until about 18 and there are differ skills needed. But these guys, men and women, are a level above in fitness imho. The collisions are old schol Union before we got all worried about injuries 20 years after they stop playing at the top flight. Made the game more boring imho
