1200 Leaking Cluthch Fluid

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by PeterT, Oct 25, 2018.

  1. Noticed my reservoir getting emptier everday day now with now signs of a leak
    Where is my fluid going?
Clutch still perfect to use though

  2. slave dribble, incontinence comes to old Ducatis as well as their owners. The relatively small discharge often gets lost/disguised in the overall grime that is the gearbox output shaft's normal territory.

  3. Slave seal leak...affects new 2016 ENDUROs as well.

  4. 100% it's the Slave cylinder.
The originals have a rod inside which rotates and wears the rubber seal, especially if you ride in town a lot and hold the clutch in at traffic lights)
The newer version (and aftermarket ones) have an anti-rotation slot

Easy to fix, look on here and you will find some threads.
The aftermarket ones make the clutch higher but don't be tempted to go for too large a diameter as you can have issues in very hot weather.
    Oberon are good

  5. Ok so decided to get new one as the original is years old and not worth repairing .Ordered a RSR Moto after doing some research.
Not to keen on the oberon stuff now as I had some issues with their indicators . Anyhow a new slave cylinder is better than a leaky one, will report on whether it's any better/different.

  6. Slave cylinder. Original not repairable. Oberon better and lighter

  7. No seal kits available for the standard slave?

  8. cheers for that:upyeah:
