Leaky clutch reservoir

  1. Just changed clutch and brake fluid - all very straightforward. Then I went for a test ride. First time out both front brake and clutch reservoirs were leaking. Came home and checked seals, which appear fine, then tightened as much as I could. Front brake reservoir was fine on the next ride, but clutch side still leaking. There is no play left in the lid - I can't get it any tighter. Is there some magic technique I should be using? Am I going to have to resort to PTFE tape?

  2. are the rubber seals dry, both sides? also, they may be slightly over filled? Max is usually a tad too much tbh. Aim for half way between max and min, especially on the clutch as the rubber seal takes up quite a bit of volume within the reservoir.

  3. No - didn't realise they needed to be. Never had to on previous bikes, though reservoirs weren't made of plastic.
I had already taken out a bit off the top of the clutch side, but will take out a bit more, as it's still closer to max.

    Thanks for the advice.
