looking for other people's opinions here, I bought an alpinestars orbiter 1 piece suit in May last year and the stitching started to come away where the flex panels attach to the leather around the zip, it's right where they bend as you pull it up to get your arms in. I noticed it in August and they were sent off back to alpinestars Italy for warranty repair by the dealer I got them from. It's now February and I've not got them back. Anyone had a warranty job from alpinestars as to me this seems like a long time! Also As they come with a 12 month warranty and I've not had them for nearly 6 months I'm thinking the warranty should be extended by that amount, does that sound fair or am I being unreasonable? My main concern is if they are falling apart just getting them on and off how are they going to hold up if I have an off! And before anyone says it no it's not because I've had too many pies
Sounds like a letter and strong words needed. A warranty isn't much good if you haven't been able to use them. Also, lay off the pies...
Dainese are also incredibly slow for repairs. Have had cause to send them leathers twice. The repairs are great, but you are better off if you have a reserve suit while you're waiting.
I never understand it when things like this happen, If the dealer is getting his mark up, which they are then problem is with them, get back in there and ask for a full refund or another suit, The dealer doesn't seem to care or they would be chasing it up and do they really send them to Italy, Had problems like this before with fridge freezer and electrical appliances, they say we will send a repair man out, don't turn up wrong part or breakdown again all under warranty, I've turned up with item in the back of my van and dumped it back in the shop, swap or refund is always on the cards then, as i say they get there mark up.
