Just fitted the Ducati led lights to the PP and didn't take as long as expected, only problem is that stupid bloody rubber grommet that keeps the beak on under the oil cooler. Must have taken at least 12 attempts to get it to stay on. Anyhoo all good to go now
Thanks Jim.....can you strip the plastics again now please, I'd like to see the mounting points and the brackets  Vision X Solstice Series LED spots on my bike....
I'm guessing there's threaded lugs on the frame that are not present pre 2013 bikes?....just curious.
Hi Andy, Yeah the light brackets slide over the radiator mount once loosened n then you bolt it together using the original radiator bolt plus a second one in the kit. It's fairly solid, the fitting instructions say to remove tank etc but I left it on n just used a straightened wire coat hanger to pull the left light cable thru the frame n cable tied the right side to the frame.
Those are the Ducati performance ones aren't they? I have them on mine, people will certainly notice you more now
Hi Satzoomer, yeah they are the Duc ones. They were bright enough in the daylight so must be blinding at night.
did you grease the grommets where the bolts go through into the bracket?? as it helps when or if your mant to lift them or drop the beam pattern, you'll notice the peripheral more than distance, and the green bulb on the switch is also quite bright
Something that I have been curious about as well. So today I compared the radiator brackets on a 13` GT and a 12`MTS S. The bracket it self have the same size, but the 13` one have, as you say, an extra nut welded in. But the hole is there on the 12` frame. So with a washer and nut, there is no problem mounting the DP-LED extra lights on the 10-12` bikes. The electric connection is done with a "T" splitter on the GPS power socket. Picture of the LED bracket on a 13` GT: Picture of bracket on a 12` MTS S:
Hi Andreas, The kit I have for my 13 plate came with 2 additional nuts n washers which look like the ones in ur pictures so guess the lights will fit most models.
Jim my bikes a 62 plate pre skyhook and They fitted straight on with just the one nut, I believe there was an amendment in the instructions for the later model, I think it would be a nightmare to get a nut n bolt in there and 100% sure it's one kit for both models
Satzoomer, Yeah you are probably right, did your left hand light bracket (looking from the seat) touch the oil cooler braided hoses, mine nearly did but wrapped them in neoprene n cable tied them to try n stop the lines running just to be on the safe side. ran the bike out in the dark just to see what they are like....lit everything up, lovely jubbly.
That's interesting, I wonder if it's available separate from the lighting kit? Could be handy. If not (or maybe even so, depending on the price) making some might be another little project for JohnW.
Yes, the cables and the switch is available as spare parts if you look in the parts catalog for the Granturismo
Hmm, innnttteeeeeerrrrrreeesssttttiinnnggggg  Might have to get on the blower and find the part no / price...
Thanks The wiring loom PN 51018631B - connectors (A) and (B) to the spots obviously, uppermost to the switch and the two on the right are the "T" splitter for the GPS power socket connection I guess. I was imagining that the "T" splitter was one small piece.
That's a good point, use of the Ducati switch might be good with install of after-market lights - or are the Duc spots switched via use of the standard controls reconfigured via a software update? Didn't find the switch (if there is one)
It's a separate switch Andy, that screws on next to the left hand controls. I don't have a picture to hand. I have no doubt that the switch and possibly the loom could be used with after Market lights. I bet the switch and loom aren't cheap though.
