V4 Left Hand Controls Connector Cable - V4s

  1. Can any of you with a Multistrada V4 take a look at the wiring for the left hand side controls. The cable on mine seems to just pass trhough a hole under the handlebar into the switchgear. If you pull the cable it comes out of its socket very easily. I can't help feeling it is missing a grommit or some kind of rubber boot.

    Thanks!

  2. From memory no grommets but it should click in and be (weakly) secured

  3. Sounds about right. It should have a grommet/seal/o-ring for obvious reasons such as insulation from rain. But it’s not until you start taking things apart that you realise what tat manufacturers use. Blame the bean counters.

For a £25k sports bike you get an incredible marvel of an engine and that’s it. Everything else is shite.

  4. Thanks. It is a little dissapointing that water can get into what looks like an expensive part.

  5. I must admit all models have been the same and I’ve never had a water problem with them. I have however had one come out while riding and that caused a few weird problems - hazards on all the time from memory
