Left Hand Switches/controls Not Working-sfv4s

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by outintheopen, Jun 4, 2023.

  1. As per the title, left hand controls not working.
Turn the ignition on and hazards are flashing which won’t turn off, nor will any of the buttons work.
Have re-seated the loom cable which exits the controls but no joy.
Does anyone know how to remove the switch as will contact clean it.
Have taken out the two little bottom screws so bottom of the housing is off but it won’t slide off?

    Thanks.

  2. The switchgear isn’t designed to split. It’s captive on the bars, held by a clip that needs a tool to release the switchgear. If the connector is fitted ok, then it may be something else.
The flashing hazards indicate a control unit is “off line” on the CANBUS. The switchgear is part of that but iirc, sub connects via the dash. Might be worth checking the dash connector? Remove and refit…

  3. Thanks, appreciate the reply.
Do you know what sort of tool to remove the switch is needed?

I’ll contact clean the dash connectors and refit.
Sods law it happens when the weather is so good!

  4. The tool is a flat blade with a slight crank in it to help with access.

  5. Just back from the dealer, they put it on the diagnostics and left hand controls fubar.

Bikes now out of warranty so they are going to see if there’s any goodwill from Ducati.

    Part is £269.
