Hi Guys, New around here, just joined the forum, as i'm pretty serious about building a Walt Siegl - Leggero. Any do's and don'ts? my initial search within the forum was to find the last year for carburettor fuelled bikes for a donor? (900ss or Monster.) not found the answer yet! Or would you go fuel injection? Personally, for the classic look- carb''s all the way, but the donor will be older and usable parts will be less likely to be retrievable. Anyone out there with bike / parts for sale? Cheers, Chris.
Hi Chris. Also new around here but I can tell you that 900ss went to fuel injection in '98 and the 900 monster followed suit in 2000. If you want carbs but end up with a FI engine there's nothing to stop you using Keihin FCRs or similar. The Siegel bikes can be stunning, look forward to seeing the results...
Cheers for the reply, Yes, lots of research sinse that post, I now have a 98. Looking for another pre injection 900 also. I have the full Leggero kit , deposit paid and in manufacture along with much more. An alternative V twin coming to completion, looking forward to forging onwards.....
I have nothing to add other than to ask for plenty of pictures please! There are some very knowledgeable people on here, I'm sure they will be able to help if you have any questions, they have certainly helped me with my project.
