959 Lever Adjust

  1. Hi everyone, I have fitted the performance seat and could do with the clutch and brake levers on the bars being rolled round slightly.
On Japanese bikes, I would undo the 2 circled bolts and it could be moved.

This has a peg in the front of the bar stopping it being moved at all.
How are other people moving them, grind off the peg, or another way ?
    Thank you.

  2. Get a pair of wire snips and grip the peg as close to bars as possible. A few wiggles and rotates and the peg can be removed. It’s a simple friction fit.

  3. Brilliant, thank you.

  4. Thread hijack...

I am really struggling to get my pin to budge. What tool did you use to get this done? Did the OP manage it?

Apparently some replacement levers come with a tool to remove the pin and I thought I saw a screwthread inside the pin.

  6. Get a firm grip right up close to the bar and twist. Takes some force.

  7. Thanks buddy. I have failed to get a good enough grip on it using standard pliers or the locking ones. I'll give this a go.

  8. Yes, I managed it with the side snips. Then once out enough moved to the locking pliers.
It took some getting out though.
