I love the aperture in the fuel tank. There's elements of the bike I like. Would prefer it with rearsets and a forward riding position but I guess that's the US influence in it.
It's amusing to look at. But it does seem to contain about double the amount of metal that you need. Not exactly a weight saving machine, is it?
It's the American mentality...more is better. They have no concept of "quality over quantity", which is why most of the vehicles they produce are such badly built piles of utter shite.
Ain't that the truth.... don't even know where to begun with the stuff that went wrong with my mint 9 year old 23,000 mile from new mustang - complete pile of shite in every respect. My 14 year old Toyota celica is quicker better to drive, more economical and infinitely more reliable. When we stripped the Ford engine following its second major failure before 50,000 miles were on the clock, the quality of the castings was absolutely disgraceful. By comparison the casting on my Chinese Yamasaki 125 commuter bike is surprisingly very good.
Had a Crown Victoria on my last trip to the US. Gutless (you had to knock the overdrive off for the slightest of inclines), handled like a supertanker with a wonky rudder, and the suspension was comical...you were still wallowing and lurching 3 miles after the bump. Plenty of space though. Resented the thing so much I got 4ft of air off a ramp in San Francisco - I pity the poor sod that had that car after me!
