Limited Edition Wsb/mgp Replicas

  1. Got an email about these from Ducati about 3 weeks ago. I believe they are flogging them for £67,000 each which is pretty steep considering it's largely an "S" with a paintjob and some parts bin trinkets thrown in.

  2. Ouch! 67k, another 'limited edition ' from Ducati, looks like they have run out of ideas and flogging specials now to keep the cash rolling in. Do you think these will sell to the everyday rider? Or the person that wants to increase the collection and never ride it

  3. What a laugh, I bet they then charge buyers an additional £4k for the exhaust!

  5. The v2 is pictured with underbody full Akra system. On the Ducati website this is followed by a disclaimer that the bike pictured is in race trim and the one delivered will be road legal. So yes, on the v2 pay extra for system. The V4 jobs all have the crappy road legal Akra can that nobody would ever choose to buy.

  6. Not me, I’m happy that they’ve released the championship riders bikes in Yellow. That decision has saved me the 67k I had burning a hole in my pocket. Despite it being quite a break from the ‘usual’ Red.

  8. I get the impression Panigales aren’t selling well. Though I think sportsbikes are like that across the whole market.
Wonder how long before they are sold in track trim only?

  9. Don’t want to keep banging the same drum but I wonder if you can ask for a bike without aero for 60 odd grand.

  10. Think it's still cheaper to buy a standard bike and just get it professionally painted

  11. But then it will not have "provenance"
    :laughing::joy::joy::joy:

  12. I’m pretty sure it is removable as I’ve seen cover trim pieces that fit where the sticky out shite goes.

  13. All this special/limited edition crap is getting silly now with Ducati, if anything it puts me off the brand.

  14. Tbh with a modern bike who cares

  15. Once a ducati special model was just that. Not sure about the early singles, but the twins were different specifications at a price with usually better performance. This went on for years, each performance upgrade at a premium usually ending up in the next years lower spec model.
These original higher spec bikes are usually sought after.
But since the bog basic bike is so competent and probably not fully usable by the vast majority of buyers, how to sell 'upgraded' ones at a premium?
Why, slap on some trinkets and persuade a few rich people that they are buying something special. Seems to work as these bikes are usually sold out.
I would happily pay that sort of money for a ducati. But it would really have to be special and not a tarts handbag.
