1200 DVT Link App.

  1. Just picked up new my dvt s P/X for a grand tourismo.
Anyone had any luck with the Multi link app, mine says the last 5 numbers of frame don't match up so it wouldn't link!
Also my heated grips are NOT very hot, any ideas?
    Still very chuffed with it!

  2. I got my DVT a coupl of weeks ago and also have not managed to get the app to link.

Dealer told me on the phone to try deleting the app and having another go, which is not done yet.

Would also appreciate any tips from those who made it work.

  3. hey my link app worked after a couple of tries, it is a bit fiddly and dosent always work. but had to enter the entire 17 digit chassis no.
are the zeros getting mixes up with the O's?

  4. Mine didn't recognise frame nos until I stood next to the bike and linked it -worked then! Also my heated grips aren't great -anybody know what temp
they should hit on full -was gonna ping an infrared temp gun at em to see where mine are. My Oxford grips were so hot couldn't hold em without gloves on

  5. I tried a few times before it linked, but now it doesn't link again. so gave up.

  6. Hi the grips will get to around 60 degrees sat in the garage but don't have enough power to maintain temperature with a -5C temp and a 70mph wind chill.

I had mine changed on Friday at the dealer

The left grip seems hotter than the throttle grip and hotter than before but the throttle grip is still cool.

The temps today were 12c so not really able to tell if it is better in the cold days (the left)

  7. Deleted and downloaded one more time.

  8. Does anyone have a link for the app or what it's called? is it on Android yet? sure I saw something about only being on IOS! :(

  9. I had this problem, and eventually my dealer replaced the bluetooth module under warranty. I first connected to another bike on their showroom floor to be sure that I was doing everything correctly.

Edit to clarify: When I had this issue it was specifically that the app did not connect, and it gave an error that the last 5 digits of the frame did not match. It always worked when I paired my phone and Sena with the bike for music. Also, one indicator of this issue was that when I paired the phone to the bike with the old/faulty module, the pairing name on the phone was something like "Bluetooth Hub", whereas it should be something like "Ducati Multimedia System" (I can't remember these names exactly).

  10. My BT links, ie its picking up on the dash, but not on the app. Also works phone to earpiece for music

  11. The thought of multimedia combined with motorcycling seems to me to be a recipe for distracted driving, or in this case riding. It's already a huge problem with cars, motos require many times more concentration and now they're being loaded with stuff. Listening to music with ear speakers is a huge distraction. Although I suppose there's many riders who aren't concentrating on riding even without any multimedia.
Rossie himself said a moments thought of a song or a girl he met the night before instantly has him loosing time.
All this multimedia stuff just can't be the answer to safer riding. Recording data to review after riding seems to be the real benefit. I guess it's the future. Riders are always complaining about drivers on their phones but how many riders are flipping through a playlist? meh

  12. The app is more about rider engagement, and Ducati trying to add gamification to their marketing plans.

Thats said, I can only work the controls for the phone for music while stopped, its not intuitive at all and more often than not doesn't work. I dont listen to music so no biggie, but on a long trip I'd imagine it may be quite useful tbh as you can change tunes without hands off the handlebars. Add cruise control (which is great) and you could in in an Audi ;)

  13. Was at the DOC meeting at GT Motorcycles last night, listening to a few guys comparing notes on the Link app. Apparently it might be easier to add a new bike if it doesn't work first time round, and you need to enter the entire chassis number.
