916 Link Pipes, Do They Make Any Difference?

  1. My 916 is fitted with Termi 45mm half system with the original link pipes with the "resonators" in them. Would fitting different link pipes without anything in them alter the performance or noise?
Also where can I get a set of link pipes without resonators?

  2. Any less restrictions in the exhaust will help the engine breath better. Might feel a small difference but not much. They look better though.

  3. Jon, I'd like the same thing. It seems as if the only ones that look clean are the 45mm header to 50mm exhaust. I have 45mm slip-ons, so it's not cost effective to upgrade the pipes.

Unless there are 45-45 link pipes without the baffle/resonators?

  4. Yes, 100%, better without and slightly louder, deeper thump.

  5. Well I might be selling a 45-50 link pipe very shortly.

  6. So just confirming there's no such thing as a 45-45 'smooth' mid pipe?

  7. Rare as rocking horse pooh, that will fly out the door.

  8. But if anyone has a 45-45 smooth link pipe or knows where I can get one?

  9. Don't think they exist, all the OEM have the baffles and I highly doubt there's such a thing as an aftermarket 45mm system - what would be the point of making one?

As above the 45-50mm are 'smooth' as are the bigger systems.
