Hello, fellow Ducati fans. It's that time of year where your battery might need a bit of love, especially if the bike goes into hibernation over winter.

I have an offer for you on the HyperCharge, a Microprocessor-controlled fully automatic 3.5A battery charger that can charge any lead-acid-based battery (Wet, AGM, Gel, etc.) and Lithium batteries too. It comes with a quick-release harness and quick-release crocodile clips. We also sell additional leads and an extension cable, so you can easily charge multiple vehicles.

Just click this link and use the code desmo to get £8 off and with free shipping you save £11.95 in total, meaning you'll have the charger at your door a couple of days from now, at just £34.95.

  2. I bought one last week - damn!

As chargers/maintainers are quite a contentious subject on here, I'm happy to report that the charging and maintainance voltages are as I would expect. So far I've topped up then 'maintained' a standard car battery and an AGM bike battery (only a few days, but no reason to think there'd be any change over time other than that caused by the battery). Charging voltage is around 14.5V for both, as you'd expect. Maintainance-mode voltage on the car battery is 13.2 / 13.3V; the AGM mode maintains at 13.5 / 13.6V as expected.

Instructions are a bit odd, but after a read through make sense. The 'quick-release' connectors fit the usual SAE 2-prong type. A good feature is that it displays charge status without mains connected. Mode change from 'normal' lead-acid to AGM and the 2.0A to 3.5A option are all straightforward.

There's a 'winter' charge option that uses the AGM mode for any conventional battery for a slightly-higher voltage (a little warming). My interpetation is that this is on-vehicle outside or on/off vehicle in an unheated garage only in Winter.

I don't have a Lithium battery, so you're on your own there. I took a chance on this purchase as I'd normally go for another Optimate. So far I'm happy and yes, I'm just a punter, no connection to TwoTyres nor Provacell.
