Some time ago in the dark annals of history, some kind person on the Ducatisti forum lent me a breather for my SS fuel tank. I since have moved from the East of England to Wiltshire and have conveniently lost their details in the process. I believe this is a bit closer to the owner of the breather. If you are the owner of said breather please give me a shout and many thanks. (Shame about Ducatisti going..)
Man I was worried when I found Ducatisti had disappeared. Thought it was you but for some reason had you down as being in Portsmouth…good to see you kept the same moniker! You still a submariner? I moved from working for Lotus in Sunny Norfolk to running a Pub just outside Salisbury at the end of last year so have had little time to think of doing anything as fun as motorcycles for the last few months. Managed to get out the other day as the sun was setting, not the best time for exploring new roads! Needs a good clean and service probably just get the service though. Regards the breather let me know where to send it or if you want to sell it. I got a one way breather from some on line rally shop that I thought would do the job. It doesn’t! Came back from the only ride of the year stinking of fuel, needs further investigation as I thought I had cracked that when I was in Norfolk. Good to know that the demise of Ducatisti wasn’t the end of the most informative forum group of Ducati owners. Nice to see Gillan and Geo are here too.(Geo’s bikes are stunningly beautiful!)
Howdo! Yep still on the black pigs. Your welcome to hang onto the breather if it works? The tank I'm using has a built in breather. Pub you say??? Mmmmmmmmh! Yep Gillans bikes are very nice, George needs to get his ass to spec savers!!!!!!
Found the cause of the fuel leak, the breather pipe had split between the tank and breather! Just need to find a suitable material small bore pipe. Sure the tubing I obtained was petrol resistant and it hasnt gone hard or brittle so it may have happened in the move. Problem with moving from Norwich to Salisbury is I knew where all the suppliers were based in Norfolk. Salisbury, so far, seems to be lacking in a lot of areas!! Time will tell.
Well I am back... To cut a long story short the pub venture didn't work out..Huge losses and bloody close to bankruptcy! Poor old bike did 14 miles in one year, MOT station and back! Managed to hold onto them but lost pretty much everything else.. Now decamped to Bath which is much prettier. Currently jobless but have an interview Wednesday so with a bit of luck.. Now I may have time, if not money, to actually ride the bike more. I have already been to Westminster twice on it and, touch wood, it seems to going ok. Needs the belts doing and the forks need rechroming but it passed its MOT so that's good. The prolonged lack of use doesn't seem to have done too much harm. Heres hoping!
