A little warning to London commuters. A40 is having a system of average speed cameras fitted for last few months. It basically starts at Hoover building all the way to that flyover past Paddington. Both ways and sadly rear facing by the looks of it. System is not going live until September 2015 so you have time to either learn to slow down to 40 on 3 lane road where for now everybody does 70 or find another route. It is also installed on A2, bits of A406 and one more.
You do have loads of them though. We were up there a couple of weekends ago and there's loads of speed traps in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Saw more in one weekend than I would in a year down here.......unfortunately there was one I didn't see....
Oops :Wideyed:, lots in East Yorkshire and West - North they have a Busa and a couple of camera vans that seem to be in the same place every day of the week did you go anywhere nice
I guess we were East Yorkshire. Stayed in Scarborough which is where I got caught, as we went to the Cock O the North (biggest waste of time ever, but that's a different story). Spent the Saturday riding the Dales which was great, beautiful place with no traffic. Not great for hooning but was great for a chilled ride.
Scarborough is North Yorks - sounds like you just missed one of the best biking roads in the country - Helmsley to Stokesley
This sort of thing really f*cks me off. The A40 is a shit road at the best of times let alone now slowing the few places you can make any pace. Who ever is responsible for this needs to be put in the village stocks whilst Uncle Rolf is on day release...
Well back on topic, the police need to do this because they are so busy... oh hold on Sara Thornton: Police may no longer attend burglaries - BBC News
