Hi all , like everyone on here I love Ducatis. I don't quite get the, look but don't ride, collector attitude though! Now if I had the money I'd have a full collection but they'd all be ridden . I bring this up as I watched Shakey Burne on late brake show with his desmosedici which he's never ridden ? Love it /him but can't believe it's OK not to ride ? What do you think ?
I’ve never understood it either particular with the D16rr which would my ultimate dream bike but hey if you’ve got the money & a wife who sees things differently to mine it’s a hell of a lounge ornament!
I can understand wanting to look after a collectable/valuable motorcycle because it may be considered an investment but personally I want to look and ride
I think if it’s a box fresh, never ridden then maybe but otherwise the it would be ridden if it was me
Been trying to understand why I have quite a few and don't ride them , it's like any collecting habit, nice to have and look at, stamp collectors don't use their stamp collection to post letters I do ride a couple...
Look, and ride, only when it's warm and dry Took the 916 for MoT today, then, on to my local ducati dealer, damn thing broke down on my way home But, it still looks pretty, whilst waiting to be recovered
The S2r isn't MoT'd at the moment so I look at that. I have taken the 748 out this year but with a family, a dog, a house, rowing, the teenagers' bike, the bits I want to do to the 748 and work, it doesn't leave a lot of dry sunny days to actually ride any of them.
