Hi All, On tour at the moment and my instrument panel has come loose and is bouncing around. It only SEEMS to be attached with one rubber bushed bolt on the right hand side. The left hand bush appears to just be a “bumper”. Is that right? Anyone know?? Thanks in advance!
Assuming yours is 2015> DVT? Your post or profile doesn't say, can't find any further info on the few posts of yours I could be bothered to trawl... There should be three damped studs screwed into the back of the instrument panel and then three nuts holding these to the plastic frame. https://shop.oemducati.com/en/products/multistrada/2018-1/multistrada-1260/instrument-panel-151
Replace the missing part. Stop off at a motor factors store and get a new bolt. Use the internet to find a store.
Looks like the same bolts > https://shop.oemducati.com/en/produ.../mutistrada-1200-s-sport/headlight-fairing-81 Shame it doesn't say how many on the fiche, don't have a manual on file for that model.
That’s the thing - trying to determine if there IS a missing part or if it’s just the one bolt that’s come a bit loose.. It’s a fiddly bugger and not easy to access to check
Thanks for that Bumpkin. From that diagram it LOOKS like there just the one bolt (labelled Damper as it’s rubber bushed) So either the bushings have failed and now have too much slack or the nut’s come loose/off. It was JUST belt-serviced so maybe this was removed and not re-torqued. I’ll see if I can fiddle with it.
Update: looks like there are two “Dampers” and the left one has failed. It’s a rubber isolated mount - no bolt going through and I think the left one has failed. Might just lash something up till I can get it home. Big zip tie right around the clock should do it.
I would guess that there's at least two of the dampening bolts used, if not three. Parts illustrations tend to only show one of identical items. However, in my experince with Honda parts fiechs they also showed the number of times the items were used for that particular view. Shame that Ducati don't do the same.
Update on this in case someone has the same problem: There are 3 of these bushes securing the clocks, two on the right side and a single one on the other. In my case the single one had separated at the rubber and was allowing the clocks to bounce around. The £8 part to replace and, while it's a bit fiddly, you can replace the bush without taking off the whole front fairing, though I did take off the screen to get better access.
