1200 DVT Loose Rear Mudguard

  1. I’ve noticed my rear mudguard is loose on one side (maybe it’s meant to be like that)..
I took it off and looked inside.. is it normal to look like this?

  2. Did this bike have a previous owner? Looks a bit shonky....

  3. The one I had on it was nicked in a car park ... so I picked this one up on fleebay but didn’t check it. It’s been on the bike for 10,000 miles and it’s the first time I noticed it... I generally just get on and ride and hardly wash it

  4. I had this happen on my 1260 after about 6 months, it started to wobble more than normal and the plastic weld on the inside had let go at the bottom, whole unit replaced under warranty. They do look a bit of mess on the inside even when properly stuck together but not as bad as yours, looks possible that someone knew about it and tried to reheat it and glue it together?

  5. That’s what I thought, I was thinking of just re glueing but wanted to make sure they didn’t need to have some ‘give’

  6. Mine fell right off on my 2015 DVT. Replaced under warranty so Its not unknown for this to happen.
Glue it with something strong as it doesn't need to flex.

  7. Just dump it - they look horrible anyway. They are the Elephant man of motorcycle styling ;)

  8. Same happened to my 2015 DVT, it's somewhere in the Highlands :bucktooth:, as yours replaced under warranty, also had my 2018 1260's replaced as it was becoming loose, you'd have thought Ducati would have sorted it in the meantime :worried:.

  9. Mine done the exact same, scuff up the plastic and a liberal covering of epoxy and so far I have done over 1k miles on it with no dramas at all, cheaper than a new one.

  10. Mine also did the same, they replaced it under warranty. It was less severe than yours I think. I still have it if anyone wants it

  11.
  12. Only put mine on if I’m riding on a rainy day, otherwise sits in the garage.

  13. Exactly the same happened to my 1260 after about 6 months too, also replaced under warranty

  14. Mine’s in a box since day 1, benefit of living somewhere one can ride for pleasure year ‘round without getting wet.

  15. That’s my plan :)

  16. Try that when you are touring :worried:

  17. Touring tends to be in sunnier climes and not an issue, if going to Wales that’s a different story.

  18. Get rid of it like I did, looks much better.

  19. The one on my 1260 is loose. Asked dealer to put in for a replacement, they're dragging their heels/can't be arsed... Need to give them a ring, thanks for the reminder.

  20. That looks good, where did you get those guard’s from?
