Has anyone managed to pack out the slight space between the throttle tube and the bar? I'm considering how best to do it.
and get the throttle stuck, would rather not. Is it moving a lot as a little free play is to be expected.
If you mean the free play in the twist before anything happens, rather that too much clearance between the diameter of the throttle tube and the bar, then do a search on the forum for throttle spacers.
Thanks messes. I wouldn't want to get the throttle stuck, that wouldn't be ideal. I would say the free play is excessive compared to every other bike I've had.
Thanks Bumpkin. It's the space between the throttle tube and the bar, not to do with the throttle spacers. My throttle is cable operated anyway, not ride by wire.
Good point, only DVT 2015> ride-by-wire. Probably a new throttle tube then, not cheap, even more so if heated grips fitted. Or is it a design issue? Too risky adding anything between the nylon tube and the handlebar IMHO.
I’ve seen tubes that have worn on one side and create an oval space, either that or someone has replaced it previously with a tube off another bike. New tube will fix it.
They are heated grips that have been replaced recently so shouldn't be worn, but I will check anyway.
I have 3 different models with Ducati heated grips, one came fitted as standard and the other two were fitted by the dealer from new. There is variation but all are ‘slack’. I’m wondering if heated grips need more clearance due to the temperature change ? Andy
