  1. Hey i have my ducati monster 400 and by mistaken i have lost my bike key so now i am can't start it or ride it i requires a locksmith who can provide me the new keys at affordable prices if someone knws about the good quality locksmith company plzzz inform me for it it's urgent.. looking forward for your replies.

  2. Does the 400 use a chipped key? If so you will have a problem and potential high costs to rectify.

  3. I bet you can order them through Ducati, I'm guessing you would need to show proof of ownership, frame and engine numbers

  4. That'll be quite an old bike, doubt if Ducati can or will help. Not a chipped Key. Vehicle locksmith best bet. You might be able to remove the lock(or petrol cap) and take it in to be done on the bench. Maybe get a blank or key from same era for them to work from.

  5. sadly very expensive (and majority of locksmiths won't even tackle this) if you can't find a serial number. The best solution and cheapest (if no number found) is to buy a secondhand set which come up for around £60 -70 from time to time. I appreciate that the worst one to change is the fuel cap and there is no non - destructive method of doing this sadly if the one 'security' cap head is in place.

  6. Newer bikes (2001) use the IAW5* series ECU's with immo.

  7. Yes I didn't realise they made them well into the noughties. Ignore my prev. post.
Duc dealer prob best place to start or s/h lockset.

  8. There's no key data stored against the VIN. Can get blanks, but you need something to copy from.
rather than take the ignition barrel out, try and get a key cut to the fuel cap or seat lock if they are on the same key.

  9. If your bike is a post 2001 model this is going to be a PITA for you to sort because of the immo. (I can help re removal of the immo if it uses IAW59M ECU)

If prior to 2001 then this could be your solution DUCATI M600 MONSTER 1993 - 2001 LOCK SET | eBay

  10. My mate Harry who has my old ST2 has just had the same prob, losing the keys, its a 1998 bike so no immo....he took the ignition barrel out, went to a locksmith in Newcastle who had a special machine that could identify the profile of required key and came away a happy bunny with two keys..I dont have detail of which locksmith or cost but I can find out if this would be of help to O P, but looking at their profile location is USA!!!

  11. just saw the USA bit Twango :) but you never know - could be one in UK. If not in a hurry I could do it, but i'm sure ImoaceySUS will want to get using it soon (I would!)

  12. maybe it was a Cagiva only thing but I have two numbered keys right here : - B322442, B431232. If the present owner is anything like Lancia(now Fiat) then it's possible that even if a number exists the company won't be able to 'honour' it now.
Same prob with Fuel cap key but harder as barrel not even removable also (sorry N.) the seat lock has one less register than the ignition and fuel cap lock so don't use this one.

  13. is this a wind up ?
