Hi, So, I've only gone n misplaced/lost the black key for my 2013 Multistrada. Any advice on a replacement? I do have the red one if that helps... Nigel
I think the RED one is the emergency key if you lose the black one. Other on here might have better knowledge than me on these matters.
I think you’ll be okay. The red key is master and can be replicated. I had a 999R and seem to remember being told not to lose the red key….
AFAIK you need the red key and the card to replace the black keys. Losing a black one is not a disaster, just costly and inconvenient.
Mobile locksmith did a clone replacement for me as bike came to me with only one key. End to end it took him less than 20 minutes and only cost £25. Proper happy. Worth a call around.
Do you mean the keyless fob ? ....I wonder if you rode off on the bike with it in the under seat lock and it fell out on the road. I've found mine in that lock a few times....so have others I believe. I eventually got a copy of the key made (just a plain key with no transponder etc). I now use that key to open fuel tank and seat. £12 quid on eBay copied from photo of red key blade. The keyless fob is permanently in a zipped inner pocket of my bike jacket and never comes out .. The red key can start the bike if it is held against the back of the instrument pod....it's not a proximity type thing. I believe a dealer can supply a new keyless fob if you can show your documents and the red key ...last I saw it was £150 quid or so ...so that means £300 now I guess depending on Ducati's current price gouging policy ... There are posts on this forum regarding this .. Whatever you do ...do not lose the red key ....I believe it gets messy and proper expensive if that happens. Ger
Blank black "Ducati" keys from ebay (they came in pairs) cloned off the red key by a local locksmith. Cant remember how much but certainly under £30.
