I had the steering damper on my 848 before I got the Ohlins. You need either a fork top bracket or an ignition lock bolt bracket (as in this picture) to fit it as the 848 does not have the frame mounting bracket that the 1098 has. The actual damper bracket shown in the picture is missing so one of these is needed but they are fairly easy to get hold of.
