Louder Horn for MTS 1200

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Davemak, May 30, 2013.

  1. Anyone fitted a louder horn to their Ducati? I would like to do this, but the only online references I can find are from the Folks in the US of A. Probably the horns that they are using are only available in the US, and would prove to be very expensive when you add on Excise Duty, Carriage, etc. Any advice/ help would be appreciated.

  2. The Stebel Nautilus Compact is what you need. I have one on my MTS that I previously had on my ST4s. It is F'ing LOUD. It needs a relay though. I wired the relay direct to the battery through a 15A fuse and used the existing horn wiring to to trigger the relay, keeping the OEM horn in place as well. I have mounted it on the LH side of the horiz cylinder head.

  3. +1 - fitted a stebel nautilus to

    much better :upyeah:

  4. This looks like a fake Stebel horn.

    STEBEL S.p.A. - horns

  5. I have to agree, mine is a real one and hasn't got those chrome covers on the sides

  6. Having already tried this pair of Fiams on Rommel's Tractor, I have fitted them to my 900SS. They are also firkin loud but in a more conventional way like a large car. They also need a relay which is supplied with the kit and therefore a separate fused feed from the battery - Well worth the effort

    hope this helps

  7. Yes, it is a 'fake' Nautilus. It actually admits this further down the listing. It also says that Nautilus horns are no longer available - is this true?
