Can anyone help me identify what this pipe is and where it should end as it has melted. It comes from the intake on the vertical head. It could have melted on the exhaust bend behind the engine casing but cant be sure. I can’t find it in the parts catalogue??? My bike has also developed an abs problem but not sure if this would be related? Any advice please
Scott Oiler? Do you have one fitted? It looks like the vacuum tube for it. Connected to the vacuum point built into the inlet tract http://kbvps.scottoiler.com/article/monster-1100.html
I haven't, but looks like previous owner did but left the vacuum hose. I will need to blank it off again. Cheers for the info, I think you are spot looking at the connector.
I think you can just unbolt it from the inlet tract and then pop a bolt back in there to blank it off. If the tube wasn't connected to anything other than the atmosphere then I would guess that cylinder might have been running a bit lean as extra air was sucked in, you'll be able to tell from checking the plug. Anyway, once blanked off again all will be fine
Cheers Paul, All blanked off and running good, also had a dodgy plug on one of the cylinders which didn't help. Next prob is the abs but will need diagnostic I think. Looks like its thrown its toys out of the pram because I haven't ridden it for a couple of months.
Start a new thread on the ABS issue in the Technical help section (if not already done so) and I'm sure there will be suggestions/advice in short time.
