I know its a rather vague question and slightly unfair to pose it, but I'm after a rough idea of the value of a bike! Its a 900 Monster, M reg. MOT'd and taxed until June or July, slightly tatty. It is desperately overdue the belts (which will be supplied to be fitted by me), and has had a reasonable service last summer, including tyres, sprockets and chain, brake pads and new front brake master cylinder. (I know they've definitely been done. I did 'em!) I reckon he'd also lob the rear paddock stand in as well. The owner is looking at £1200-1500, which I'd think is a tad high?
Pretty much the right money there Ian, a little undervalued even, you'll struggle to find another 900 for less than that, shabby ones fetch 1500 -1700 while mint could go past 3k
Sorry for slight thread revival but I've got three bikes at present. Why do I still want this ?? I'm telling myself I'd try to get it cheap, tidy it up then sell it on but I fear I wouldn't. I'd end up keeping it...
Bought. It's a bloody disease, buying bikes. I started with just the one. Then said I'll get that zzr, you know, for a month or two, get it out of my system. That was two years ago, and I've no desire to sell it. Or the Chinese 125 I bought for a laugh. Now I've just bought a Monster. I may tidy it and sell it? Who am I kidding? I've already seen the forum pictures where they have hi rise exhausts, dry clutches, and the rest...
Ill post when I collect it tomorrow evening - if I can. I'm not very good on IT things, and I'm on my phone too. I've already got a must do list - namely the belts! They're 6 years old or so. I'm interested in the state of them! The would like to list comprises as I mentioned above - hi level exhausts and a dry open clutch. I'm not going to get carried away and do a full strip and rebuild. Not. Not. Not.....
