Hi, Being new to ducati, was just wondering if anyone could give an insight to average jobs/costings on average maintance of an 1198S. It's a 2010 with 4000 miles. It will be a weekend toy and probably only see 4-6'000 miles per year max. You hear all the horror stories on maintance and running costs etc but just wanted to hear some truth to these apparent myths..... My local ducati dealer charges £66 per hour and I'm not sure if this is plus VAT. The 1198S I'm getting should hopefully come with some extended warranty from the dealer if not then this could be a deal breaker. Any advice or experience will help..... Cheers Az
£66 per hour + vat sounds right for a dealer. Make sure it has had a the belts and valve shims checked and any recalls( if any) done. I think it'll be out of manufacturers warranty now, unless the original owner extended it, so you'll only get what the dealer gives with used bikes, unless you take one out. Stand to be corrected though. buy it, ride it and worry about the costs later! You'll love it.:smile:
