  1. Hi guys!

Just got myself a 749! Its done 10k miles on an 05 plate!
Dies anyone know of anywhere in the south of england where I could get the bike stripped cleaned and made looking like new again!
This includes a touch up on the heat proof paint on the engine as its obviously seen some water in its day and is flaking.
I do not have the knowledge or workspace to do it myself before its mentioned! Want it looking its best for summer :)

    Thanks

    Mike

  2. Why don't you get stuck in and DIY. They are really easy to work on

  3. Thanks for the reply Alistair I will give them a shout!

I can't diy it! I don't have a work shop/ shed big enough I don't have a garage and if any parts were to be found in the house i would fear for the future of my manhood :) and I work away so leaving it with a company for a few weeks and having the job done properly, ready for summer would be ideal even if it cost me a few quid.

The bike is in good nick just want a couple things given a bit of love to get her back to her showroom self :)

  7. Indeed I am that! Well tester for halliburton :)

  8. Sell it and buy a clean one. More than likely this will be more economical

  13. hahaha served

  14. I'd leave it, a bit of engine flaking is all a part of the patina and story of the bikes history, just clean it, get it mechanically perfect and enjoy it!

  15. Very true. Didn't want to say Irony Coast Pirates as they just don't have the same media coverage. They need a decent PR team on that one.....and come on, calling somebody a pirate is a tad funnier than saying he works for BP

But yes Bootsam, served indeed :frown:

  16. To answer a few questions:

I'm on the Atwood hunter off of equatorial guinea!
I use equipment on surface to control the flow of the well, collect data on oil water and gas flow rates and control the disposal of said gas and fluid.

I'll have another look at the flaking when I'm home and see if I can live with it! :D
Anyone know of somewhere that will detail a motorbike? Again would prefer not to do it myself! Would be willing to pay someone from the forum that
Lives in or around Southampton to clean it properly

    Mike!

  17. Hello oilman, what you need is a biatch a kind of gopher , or a down and out willing to be dominated and put to good use.
    Yeah good luck with that.

  18. Have a look at All Year Biker. There's a guy in Southampton who cleans the bike properly then treats it with ACF50 to stop any corrosion.

It's not a valet per se but you end up with a really clean bike which will be protected too. I've had a bike done before and it's on my list of things to do at the start of next year again.
