So, went back to Mallory yesterday after a 10 year break and after the recent hype didn't know what to expect with a static noise test limit of 103db. All the bikes were tested before they went out on the first session and staggering the tests, inters first, fast tested whilst inters were out and novice tested when fast were out worked really well unlike the scrum at Brands. Required revs were 5.5k for the 749, 848 and my 853. The tester used a hand held db meter which he held at 45 degrees to the exhaust outlet at half a meter and he seemed very relaxed. Held the revs for about 2 seconds before getting the tap on the shoulder. All 4 Ducatis passed, with my 54mm full race system measuring 100db which was great but I wouldn't guarantee getting the same reading again. Only failure I know of was a ZX10 which failed both the static and drive by. No Panagales at all but 2 very lovely race prepared 2-stroke twins. Andy
Malory noise tests have always been pretty relaxed when I've been there. Makes a change from the usual nazis.
