Hi All, I've got a Speciale with the Gold Marchasini wheels...... unfortunately with a few tyre changes and 12000 miles they seem to have chipped a bit. Would anybody be able to tell me the paint code and where if anywhere I could take the wheels to get painted and corrected. I had heard Marchasini offered this service but I don't know if id be just paying over the odds for it or if they are the only ones that would get it back to factory fresh Thanks Nick
Gold wheels ? The Speciale came with black, W spoke aluminium Marchesinis from the 1199R or W spoke magnesium alloy Marchesinis from the 1199 Superleggera, which are a sort of greenish colour like this. Andy
You will need to find a sprayer who understands magnesium alloy especially if any of your ‘chips’ have breached the anodising. I don’t believe the current generation magnesium alloy is as magnesium rich as the 90’s generation which corroded at the drop of a hat but best not take any chances. I’m also not aware of any repair route through Marchesini (Brembo). Andy
Thanks Andy, big help. It’s with Ducati Coventry at the moment and they did recommend getting the repaired as they say mag can rot but have now Spain them may struggle in getting them done, so I just want to be prepared for ever eventuality thanks again Nick
