  2. He was brilliant. And then something must have happened. Can't ever see him being a world champion of anything much now. But what do I know?

  3. I see Biaggi is tipped for a few more wild cards as well.

He ran fairly well in the ones he did earlier in the year.

  4. So why not drop three quarters of the grid because they'll never be world champions either. Before you point the finger at the rider, look at team support and talent, or lack of. Think Rossi and Ducati. One of the best with one of the not so good.

  5. Didn't Melandri dump Haslam on the last corner of the final lap at Donnington when they both rode for BMW ? Not a team player methinks. Andy

  6. He plays the villain well, because of that I think having his mardy little face around a while longer whilst he gets spanked round the circuits of the world is a good thing :)

  7. Plus he hopefully brings his missus along to the track as well :upyeah:

  8. It's a good point. Essentially teams have to employ the people they can get and not everyone can have the best. But equally, teams (as indeed companies in every area) like to employ people who they think have the potential to be world champion.

People are always going on about Stoner's genius, but he wasn't so genius in the lower classes - just one of many at a similar level. He revealed genius in Moto GP (and then everyone seemed to think it was all so obvious and predictable). I also remember Gary McCoy suddenly discovering a new sliding style in 500 GPs and being successful and talked about when he was also just one of the pack in the lower classes.

It is possible that older, more experienced riders will somehow pull something unexpected out of the bag, just less likely. They also come with a price tag, one assumes. For example, Toni Elias hasn't achieved anything much for years. Why are we to think that he actually has a massive unrealised potential (which is what he seems to think)?

  9. Stoner was a talented chap.

Unfortunately he comes across as a complete bell end.

He seemed to have real issues with Rossi.

  10. Melandri is a douche, it's a simple as that, it's nothing to do with the team. He consistently moans about the team and blames the bike, he did with BMW, and with Aprilia he started to do the same when Eugene was beating him. He has also p*ssed off every single team mate he has had recently, knocked Haslam off, Laverty hated him also.

  11. Not a big fan but remember this .....

  12. That is awesome!
