Has anyone bought one of these Marco Simoncelli AGV helmets? Im considering getting one and would appreciate any opinions on it! Thanks
Ive never had one of the AGVs so was just after a general opinion of the brand ie:comfort, fit, ease of visor change, wind noise. Generally, is this helmet worth £550 or could I get a helmet thats just as good for £300? Like the idea of the Simoncelli helmet as it is a limited edition but dont want my pants pulled down over the price! Thanks
On a serious note - AGV GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli Carbon Kevlar Motorcycle Helmet at Helmet City A bargain if the size suits you.
Wow!! Nice find ET!! Hats off to the Google master!! Thank you! (i notice the fekkin' snow is back...!)
Honestly as nice as it looks unless they make one with his hair style painted on it is not a tribute lid. Nowadays his mark is sideshow bob's hair. 90% bikers interested in motor sport would recognise that, I can bet on that. Current one only those more in to it.
Look in the "Sales" section you may find others there you may like. I bought my Nicky Hayden rep Arai RX7GP (as did Dave) from there and their service was excellent. And their price was brilliant.
I like the marketing blurb........... AGV GP-Tech - Marco Simoncelli The all new AGV GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli Motorcycle Helmet is constructed from SSL (Super-Super-Light) Carbon-Kevlar and is the very same helmet worn by the top class Moto GP rider Valentino Rossi.
I would strongly suggest trying one on before you buy! Take your existing lid along and compare the upper visibility, especially if you're riding a nose down arse up bike. I had one for a short time, really couldn't get on with it! Maybe it was my head...
Have to say my head doesn't suit the AGV either. It tried one before I went with my Arai. The chin area seemed too shallow to me and made it feel uncomfortable. But apparently thats what Rossi likes so that's what the rest of us get.
Had other AGV lids without probs. That one was a nightmare as you approached traffic lights, they would disappear over the brow of the lid and you'd have to really, really crank your head up and sideways to try and keep in view! Shame as the lid was otherwise very well made and comfy.
Yeh ive got a marco tribute helmet. It's no different to any other gp tech but came with a t shirt. I got it raceways motorcycles and got a decent deal. I find the gp tech the best helmet for my head but I know some folk don't like them. I've also got 2 other designs too and use them all. (Donkey and elements )
And be aware that the helmet with a no 1 isn't the tribute helmet. It is still a gp tech but isn't limited edition and doesn't have some logos that the proper one has.
