Turning nice bikes such as Ducati into even nicer ones is usually a hard task, but when it comes to creative minds, things are no longer next to impossible. And that's the case of the Italian Sniper, the codename for Portugal-based Maria Motorcycles' latest project.

Luis Correia, the man behind Maria Motorcycles wanted to turn a 1994 Ducati 750SS into a different beast and by all means, the resulting bike is quite appealing, to say the least. First of all we have to say the power plant of the Italian Sniper comes in fact from a bigger 900SS machine, receiving a nice darkened paint job, some polishing and some covers removed.

And because the Ducati has a dry clutch, why not showing it off a bit? Therefor half of the clutch cover went off, for a meaner overall look, dramatically helped by the short Firetrap silencer and black exhaust line.

Correia has also done some reshaping for the tank, simplifying the wiring and hiding all underneath it. The subframe became a little shorter and received a cafe-racer-approved rear cowl. Funny thing is that you can actually carry a pillion once the fiberglass cowl is removed. Finally, the addition of fat, dual-sport Avon tires made the ultimate statement that the Italian Sniper is really up to some serious street-fighting brawl.
