  1. Like all great sportsman he's had a lot of good fortune thrown his way, perhaps the tide's turning.

  2. Refreshing they are taking these decisions now. Not long ago he’d have defo raced, even the same day

  3. I know the rules don’t allow a rider to race for at least 24 hours after being concussed but how long do the symptoms of a mild concussion usually persist ? If the “training accident” was sufficient to knock MM out, what other physical damage did it do ? Andy

  4. I thought it was more than that, like 1 or 2 weeks?

  5. I think it’s different still in different championships. In BSB I’m pretty sure it’s 10 days

  6. I'm sure it's 10 days, anyhow I remember earlier this year he was semi out of it after a fall and the BT Sport guys were questioning whether he would be fit enough to continue, he was on the grid obviously, Spanish organisers, Spanish rider....

He's either properly concussed, enough that he has had to inform Honda and subsequently Dorna, or he's buggered his shoulder up again and the last thing they want to tell the press is this.

The bigger question is will he be at Valencia, if he isn't I'm going to say it's his shoulder again.

  7. Does anyone have a video of the crash ?

  8. Marquez and co tend to go to Rocco's ranch near Barcelona for MX days, I've done a quick Google and I haven't seen anything, there's other footage or Marc and Alex have a day there. I suspect it will all be silenced for now.....

  9. Doesnt say anything about Espargaro you cheeky young scamp, its some journo.

Marc Marquez mystery: the doubts of Guido Meda and Mauro Sanchini
"It is strange that talking about a slight concussion is not present here," the journalist observes from Portimao.

Marc Marquez's non-participation in the Algarve Grand Prix is creating great debate: the Hondarider, by the way, is not said to return to Valencia.

"It's strange that speaking of a slight concussion the Spanish rider is not present here, it seems he still had dizziness, many times in the presence of such a situation it takes a short time, maybe 24 hours. The majority, here, do not entirely believe in the dynamic as it has been told but think there is something different. I believe that this is not a serious thing, I do not think in the least it is a question related to the arm but a precautionary choice" said Guido Meda to the microphones of Sky Sports

"A 'slight head injury' is too little to have long-term consequences, all of us at newspapers have given it - added Mauro Sanchini -. You can see that the magazine has given it a little stronger".

  10. Marquez has the same eye problem he had before.

It's a very tough time, it looks like rain over wet. Yesterday, after visiting Dr. Sanchez Dalmau, a new episode of diploma (double vision) was confirmed with a fourth right nerve paralysis, just like it happened to me in 2011. Now it's time for patience, to pass the time and go see how the situation develops, but if one thing I've learned in life is that you have to face adversity with positivity. Thank you very much to everyone for your support!!

  11. Going from bad to worse. Can't see him racing at Valencia although he's a bloody fool if he does. First test of the "all new" RCV will be the end of november at Jerez so can see him missing that as well. Hope he recovers. Andy

  12. He's confirmed as being out for Valencia, If I were Honda I'd be at least considering a backup plan for next year, possibly Alex Marquez back in repsol colours

  13. Well in my earlier post I did say would he be at Valencia as I suspect it's more serious. I did say his shoulder mind, but it's his eye/sight again....

I honestly think we have seen the best of Marc now, he will have potentially another surgery to fix the eye like he did back in Moto2, and some months in recovery.

Assuming he returns, I just cannot see him riding with the same level of aggression as the risks in my mind are too high. Obviously I am on the outside and don't know anything about his currently injury or the arm recovery but it's clear to me that another big off and he could end up partially sighted or with limited use of his arm.

Is it really worth the risk?

  14. I suspect it is to him you know.

  15. That's the snag isn't it, I'm sure if I was in his shoes knowing I've got 8 titles in the bag and possibly a few more I'd being doing the same, even with the ongoing recovery on his arm/shoulder he's still a race winner this season.

I just hope he makes the right decision and not end up disabled.

  16. Sometimes those around you have to protect you from you. Hopefully his old man will step up.
