I was offered a nice Superlight MK1 6 months ago, I didn't buy it because it didn't have the Akront wheels, I thought you'll never find a set of those Maybe worth putting them on the Superlight website, they have a Facebook page also....
I wish you had put them up for sale later in the year, I'd have definitely had them of you. Just can't do it at the moment, to strapped for cash. Still, be interesting to see what you get for them.
Thanks 749, I'm sure you'll sell them though. Best I try to forget about them at the moment lol. Cheers
In near 20 years of owning Ducatis, I've never seen a set before. I hope you get what you want for them.
Hi @1037sps this is becoming a bizarre situation, I've had one bit of interest from a German guy who wanted me to pay for postage to Germany !!!! And that's been it. Like I said I think they're so rare people are afraid of touching them, they're in great condition so getting slightly frustrated. Have dropped them to 750 which is an absolute bargain, I'm not gonna use them as I already have the magnesium Marvics on the bike already. Just don't get it !!
I've been, and still am in the same position. Had so many rare race parts for the 996 that you simple couldn't buy unless you were a race team. But now, who's gonna put £8k throttle bodies on a £4k bike? Easily damaged super light irreplaceable wheels could be a nightmare to get realistic money for. It's like having the operating lever for the time machine in the film of the same name. One off, vitally important part of a life changing machine. But the only person who'd want it is the guy with the rest of the machine. Does that make the part priceless, or worthless. It's a tough place to be mate.
Well, I ended up building my own special. I know it's a bit extreme but at least I get interest in it now but I don't wanna sell anymore. I've given bits away to good causes rather than feel shafted by someone. It's a tough place to be my friend. Seeing money sitting there that you can't spend.
You could try leaving pictures with the major Ducati tuners around the country. I left a bunch of parts with Rich at Louigi Moto and he found homes for some of it and just paid me as it sold. They've got access to more customers than me sat at home.
