999 Master Cylinder Seal Kits

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by chase, Oct 12, 2014.

  1. Hi All ,
Are they available for the 999 ?
I thought i had read somewhere Ducati would only sell the complete item .
Any help as usual appreciated .

  2. I got a seal only kit for my 916 a couple of years ago and they are getting harder to get OEM stuff for so I would think you could get a 999 one even though a bit of time has passed...... That said, I replaced it soon after with a billet one before my left hand was killed by the heavy action.

  3. There is a guy on eBay who routinely offers rebuild kits. Not sure but I think he is in the Brighton area. Andy

  4. As far as I am aware the Radial masters fitted to 749/999 and later model bikes are not rebuildable and you wont find any kits or internal parts from any of the usual places (ktm/ aprilia / Bike Torque Racing etc.

If someone does find some please, please post it up as I have two masters sat on my shelf that I would like to rebuild.

I wont be putting my faith in any ebay specials.... brakes are pretty important if you want to avoid the local A&E department..... :Nailbiting:

  11. You'd think there would be some enterprising soul who could find a kit to work. I would be very surprised if any seal was a custom jobbie. The reason why Ducati don't supply is purely indemnity.

  12. Same problem with the RD's............... no OEM kits and pattern kits are total shite............

  13. Try looking up Trevor Pope, KTM dealer.
It seems Brembo won't supply Ducati And Aprilia, because they won't sign up to some form of disclaimer but KTM have and you can get Brembo brake parts from KTM dealers as a result.
I've just got a new rubber boot for the pushrod where it goes into the m/c.
It was £3.60 and the Ducati dealer alternative was a whole new master cylinder!

Have to wait to see if the bikes a write off .

  15. Shit.

    Any pics?

Depends on the damage but you would be surprised what you can do for not such a ton of cash.

  16. Wow, I guess instinct is to avoid obstructions in the road, even if logic says best to just run it over.

Or was it a particularly large rabbit??

  17. Sorry no pics , I wasn't in that frame of mind but avoiding hitting something was obviously my main instinct at that time . ........ several cars drove by then a fellow motorcyclist stopped and helped me drag it out the ditch ( adrenaline ! me with a broken collar bone and 2 broken ribs ) . The bike started ok lights ect worked (not the indicators ) so I rode it ten miles home , it rode ok I think , when I got home I just about made it in the door ! then A & E for me .

  18. Sorry to hear of your off. Having hit a badger I know how saddle pinching it can be. Hope you repair quickly.
