Matte And Semi-gloss Paints

  1. As I have a semi-gloss black 848 ('10) and my girlfriend has a matte black Monster 796ABS ('12) my usual cleaning suspects for the bodywork would no longer be of any use. No point in polishing up a semi-gloss or matte paint :p
The dealer couldn't recommend any products to use, they'd normally just use a shampoo without a polish and call it a day. As I wanted more paint protection than just that, I went online to find a set of products that could clean and protect.

At carclean.nl I was recommended some Nanolex products.

    1 Nanolex Matte Shampoo

For general washing of the bodywork. Use a little bit with puke-warm water to clean and restore the previous treatment. Smells like bubblegum!

    2 Nanolex Matte Surface Cleaner

After washing the bodywork, use the Surface Cleaner to get rid of any remaining products left on the bodywork and provide a good base for step 3. (Doesn't smell nice... at all)

    3 Nanolex Matte Paint Sealant

After cleaning the surface, use the Paint Sealant to protect your paint without giving it a gloss finish.

I purchased all of it through http:///www.carclean.nl.

  3. I used regular washing-up liquid before, if it doesn't harm the dishes ;)

At first I wasn't convinced either, but after applying the sealant the paintwork feels a lot smoother (more like a just waxed surface) and it cleans up easier afterwards.

Anyone else got other recommendations and/or tips?

  4. Not the same
    Fairy will contain degreasers.
That will harm parts of the bike.

  5. This mug's just gone and ordered a nanolex 4 bottle pack with cloths and stuff for the princely sum of £86, a fool and his money.

  6. Lol, what pack did you go for?

  7. as ronin said, johnson's baby shampoo. i'm not so sure now but before there were a few different types. (haven't used it for ages) :upyeah:.

anyway, i always used the one without salt in it. it gives it a better shine and damages less. smells good too! ;)

  9. Nice set-up. Can you give me a heads-up when you've used the Final Finish? I didn't go for that one but might add it to the stash of products (as well as some new microfibre towels).

  10. All hair shampoo with a conditioner is great for washing as it has no harmful chemicals and when you ride it smells great........................and your worth it.
