Mce Pah!

  1. Insurance is due, get letter which they laughingly call a renewal letter. Cheapest paper, no price, nothing. I've had better from the local neighbourhood watch

Anyway, obligatory meerkat search, they actually came up second in the search, only £14 in it so give em a call, check what it is for renewal with card in hand...

12 minutes of some BSB commentator, who I've never heard of btw, yabbering away offering me lots of choices but not a person to speak to, very unhelpful girl who didn't want to do a renewal (it was the renewal number i called, not new business) told me a pack of bollox about regulations don't allow a quote to be sent for renewal thru the post and would have to start a new quote for me, all my details, at least 15 minutes. All i wanted was to check my vehicle value had reduced, card in hand and I will renew even tho I know a little more expensive, its a year older derrr, and 'we cant do that (no sir, Mr Bradbury or arsewipe even used as a name in the whole call) because 60% of sales on,ine in first year are wrong'.

First time ever I have written a complaint for poor service from an insurer. I may actually ask the FcA what MCE should be doing about it if the knowingly insure, and therefore know payment in even of a claim is unlikely, in 60% of new business policies

So bought from Hastings Direct instead

  2. And the moral is: Always shop around

I have always found Ducati Insurance to be the best.
No, I don`t work for them and have no affiliation with them at all either, i`ve just found them the best for my insurance needs with my Ducs and other brands too.

  3. Don't get me started on insurance.....as far as I'm concerned they are down there somewhere with the people traffickers.

  4. When I bought the Panigale I started a phone round of all the big names, two refused to quote, which still surprises me, after a lot of calls I narrowed it down to two and ended up with Ducati, it wasn't just they were cheapest ( not by a huge amount) but they at least sounded interested.

  5. That's another one to add to the (growing) list of crap insurers then...

  6. Please note, there are other equally crap insurers available ;)

  7. MCE will keep half of your premium if you cancel your policy after 3 months but before 6 months. When you call them to cancel it (which you must do, otherwise you're breaking the law / leaving yourself open to get shafted blah, blah) they refuse to cancel it until you return an email saying you want it cancelled. When you return this email they 'lose' it and claim it doesn't arrive (but they don't tell you this until you call back to chase your money.) When you call up 2 months later to find out where your refund is they tell you the policy isn't cancelled. Also you're no longer entitled to the amount you were previously entitled to. Now they are going to keep 75% of your premium.

In order to prove you haven't owned the bike in that whole time you must write to the DVD and pay for an information release and then return it to MCE who will then cancel the policy and then apply for a refund from the underwriter which will take 2 months to be processed.

When it IS processed they will then send you another letter telling you your non - existent account is in credit and you can use it against future policies (!?) Or call them on a premium rate number to ask them for a cheque that you asked for 4 months ago.

  8. MCE are the best company till you need to make a claim, go goggle they are appalling :(

  9. My renewal is due soon too, so I ask who is the best insurance company to deal with?

My wife has just changed her car for a new Audi and CO:OP wanted £60 per month =£720 year. She is getting on and has never had a ding(unlike me) in all her driving life. Stuff this I say and decide to shop around with Moneysupermarket. 10 mins later and £148 per year is thrown up including may I add CO:OP and various other companies. Why did the COP sting her for the £720 and then want £148 for a new client?? This whole crappy game of insurance seems to be a con job in a large way, she has been with the COP over 30years! But no more. She is now with Winston, and a few quid better off.

    The moral of all this???

Do we shop around and get quotes EVERY new year?:Nailbiting:
