What was this used for? It has been in one of my Dad's old toolboxes for as long as I can remember? I was happy to learn all about cars and bikes from him, but there is so much more I should have talked to him about.
Thanks Derek. Definitely Imperial FE, I don't think he owned a metric spanner until the late seventies. The three holes in the round brown part which is not metallic show signs of having had fastenings through them.
it looks like it takes interchangeable dowels, which would be a preset length and I'm guessing the round part with the three hole sin (looks like Tuffnol) was repurposed from its original use and as Derek said, made for a specific job.
