  1. Looking to swap out my plastic ones which look way past their best.

Can anyone tell me where to source theM from please?

I remember something about the seals needing to be viton rather than nitrile?
    Tnx

  2. Ian’s just fitted a set.

  3. Yeh but he couldn’t remember where he got em from last time I asked

  4. There are some on ebay.

  5. How long ago did he buy them, he only fitted them last week! :joy:

I got mine of that Giovanni bloke on eBay who sells all the Ferrari stuff a year or so ago. Weren’t cheap, think I paid £100 for the set of 4.

  6. Just go nylon. They will still outlast the bike.

  7. PS. My 996 shitter has metal ones ;)

  8. CCW used to supply them but not no more - I saved a set for my KR project though :)

  9. Get them from Tom Parker; https://www.tom-parker.co.uk/products/cpc-plastic-and-brass-couplings/2/fuel-line-couplings/61/

    You need the following parts;

CPC - LCD10004V = Metal female with viton seal
CPC - LCD23006V = Metal male with viton seal

Note the suffix 'V' denotes Viton 'O' rings, often they don't have the Viton because they are used in applications other than fuel where it is not necessary, also note you need the NPT and not BSPT threads and you want the 3/8" hose fitting.

If they don't have them with Viton 'O' rings then get the 'O' rings separately, Tom Parkers sell them and they're cheap and whilst it's easy to replace the 'O' ring on the male fitting (indeed it's a service item), the 'O' ring on the female is awkward to change as you need the fitting out of the tank so best to be sure it's Viton before you start.

I had a breakdown at the roadside where the (supplied with the fitting but not Viton) 'O' ring swelled sufficiently to lift from it's seat and block the fuel flow. Removing/refitting the tank temporarily cured it but it did it a second time before I discovered the fault.

  10. Question on fitting these, do I need new fuel lines as I am reading that they are special types of hoses or something?

    or alternative clips ok?

  11. Special lines fitted to the 998, not sure about the Rs. I think the others/older ones just have the single line with no inner.

  12. Clips cheap (c£2 is each iirc) from your dealer. If you are stuck (if they are shut) I think I might have a couple of spares.

  13. Take it they are only used one time?

Almost certain I have the pliers to close them, if it’s the same as my Agusta use

  14. So this is the clip, oetiker 16.8 it says. Now, I look for it on eBay and only see min and max diameter reference. Am I right I’m presuming that 16.8 is the max?

the ones on eBay are 14.8-16.8 oetiker clips

just so I order the right ones!

  15. I had a poke around my spares box but could not find my spare clips. Hoped to be able to confirm for definite. Can’t find them, but, if I were to guess I think you are right 16.8 max. When you pinch the ears it clamps down as you know and I think a couple of mm sounds about right. Someone May well know for sure. @Denzil the Ducati ?
