Metropolis Motorcycles - Anyone Buy A Bike From Them Around 2009..

  1. ..And had an alarm fitted?

I have been working on my Streetfighter today and whilst having all the bodywork off discovered that the Datatool S4 Green alarm was connected to nothing apart from the tail light !!

I guess anyone who just had an alarm fitted by Metropolis might want to check their installation too..

  2. They went out of business a couple of years ago didn’t they?

  3. Correct

  4. The worst customer service I’ve had the misfortune to experience.

  5. I did my initial MTS1200 test ride from their Barnet shop. The bike was proper filthy, but I went out at 2.30 pm and didn’t get back till 5.45. They honestly thought I had nicked it, did a few hundred miles around Essex and Herts back roads, had me grinning from ear to ear. Bought one a few weeks later, of course from another dealer, no way was I buying their demo bike in such a sorry state.

  6. They did, the sales guy (Damiano) was great, a true enthusiast, he left before they folded though

the service department... shocking, had to use them a few times for warranty. I probably should have checked the alarm sooner but I guess just trusted them with such a simple job..

  7. Indeed. Damiano Chini in sales was one of the good guys. The service department was expected to work on Ducati/Triumph/Guzzi/Kawasaki/Vespa all at the same time, which is not really feasible.

I bought a Multistrada 1200S there in 2011, but I did not get an alarm fitted on the grounds that they always go wrong and give trouble after a few years.
